MacBeth & Cheese is seeking talented actors for our October 2026 production of Ken Ludwig’s adaptation of Agatha Christie’s classic mystery. Join us for an immersive theatrical experience on the world’s most infamous train.
ABOUT THE SHOW
Ken Ludwig’s adaptation brings a fresh theatrical approach to Agatha Christie’s beloved mystery. When a wealthy man is found murdered in his locked compartment aboard the Orient Express, detective Hercule Poirot must navigate a sophisticated cast of suspects, each harboring secrets. This adaptation balances suspense with moments of humor and theatrical flair, perfect for community theater.
Ludwig’s version streamlines the story for the stage while maintaining Christie’s brilliant plotting and memorable characters, creating an intimate production that keeps audiences on the edge of their seats.

Hercule Poirot
Male – Lead Detective
The brilliant Belgian detective with meticulous methods and legendary ‘little grey cells.’ A role requiring intelligence, precision, wit, and commanding presence.
Monsieur Bouc
Male – Train Director
Poirot’s old friend and director of the train line. Jovial, concerned, and eager to help solve the mystery. Provides comic relief while advancing the plot.
Helen Hubbard
Female – American Widow
A talkative American with dramatic flair and a penchant for making herself the center of attention. Larger-than-life personality hiding deeper emotions.
Princess Dragomiroff
Female – Russian Aristocrat
An elderly Russian princess with regal bearing and sharp wit. Dignified, commanding, yet harboring deep secrets.
Greta Ohlsson
Female – Swedish Missionary
A kind, religious Swedish woman with a gentle demeanor and unwavering faith. Earnest and sincere.
Mary Debenham
Female – English Governess
A calm, composed English governess with a steely resolve and carefully guarded emotions. Cool under pressure.
Countess Andrenyi
Female – Hungarian Countess
A beautiful, refined Hungarian countess with grace and poise masking a troubled past.
Colonel Arbuthnot
Male – British Officer
A stiff-upper-lip British military man with honor, discipline, and a hidden connection to the case.
Hector MacQueen
Male – Ratchett’s Secretary
The American secretary to the victim. Efficient, observant, and harboring his own motives.
Samuel Ratchett
Male – The Victim
A wealthy American with a dark past. Mysterious, menacing, and ultimately doomed.
Michel
Male – Train Conductor
The French conductor of the sleeping car, dedicated to his duties and concealing personal pain.
