The Page to Stage Project is a year-round program dedicated to discovering, developing, and producing original theatrical works.
We partner with playwrights through every stage of the creative process—providing feedback, collaboration, and performance opportunities that help bring great stories from the page to the stage.
Each season, outstanding plays are selected for The Page to Stage Series, receiving a fully produced production by Brandon Performing Arts.
How It Works
1. Script Submission
Playwrights submit original, unproduced works for consideration.
2. Development
Selected plays receive feedback, script consultations, and opportunities for revision.
3. Table Reads & Staged Readings
Actors bring the script to life. Playwrights receive constructive feedback from audiences and theater professionals.
4. Artistic Selection
Outstanding works are selected for inclusion in The Page to Stage Series.
5. Full Production
Selected plays receive a fully produced Brandon Performing Arts production with professional design, marketing, and multiple public performances.

The Page to Stage Series
Each season, Brandon Performing Arts produces up to two original works selected through The Page to Stage Project. These productions are presented as part of our mainstage season, giving audiences the chance to experience new plays before they are seen anywhere else.

What kind of plays are you looking for?
We accept original, unproduced full-length and one-act plays across all genres, including drama, comedy, dramedy, musicals, historical works, and family or youth theater. Adaptations must be original enough to constitute a new work.
How does the submission and selection process work?
The process has five steps: script submission, development (feedback and revision), table reads and staged readings, artistic selection, and finally full production for the plays chosen for The Page to Stage Series.
What do playwrights receive if their script is selected?
Selected playwrights receive professional feedback and script development, table reads and staged readings, audience talkbacks, collaboration with directors and theater professionals, networking opportunities, and consideration for a fully produced Brandon Performing Arts production valued at $20,000 or more.
Is there a cash prize for selected playwrights?
No cash prize is awarded. Instead, selected playwrights receive the opportunity to see their work fully realized on stage, including professional directing, casting, design, marketing, and multiple public performances.
How long does the review process take?
Review timelines vary by season, but playwrights can typically expect an initial response within 4 to 6 weeks of submission. Scripts selected for development may continue through table reads and staged readings over several months before a final production decision is made.
